Does any one know anything about horse slaughter if your against it? we have a debate about it in animal science and I have nothing to back my point up

The only reason that they decide to slaughter horses is because the horse is no longer able to serve it's usefullness. If they were to release the horses into the open, then they wouldn't have to worry about slaughtering them.
